Donna Mucks: Bio

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them,

"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

A computer scientist, turned math teacher, turned singer songwriter.......who knows what is next. But I am proof you can teach an old dog new tricks! Especially when God is the trainer!

I began to play the guitar and to write songs in 2004, at the age of 44! I truly believe that God is leading me on this new walk.  And in this light, I titled my first CD "Walking".  The title actually has double meaning, as I also often write my songs while walking.

I currently play in nursing homes, and pre-schools, and have performed at several benefit concerts.

My music has been played on Local TV Show Mohawk Valley Living and on the WKTV Channel 2 Birthday Segment.

......I have been described as a folkie vocalist by my friends although I perform gospel, country, and bluegrass as well as folk songs.  I perform covers from John Prine, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, Tom Paxton, and Lee Ann Womak as well as my own compositions, most of which have Christian and nature themes.  My hope is that you will hear or feel the Holy Spirit in some of the words, as I did when writing some of them, and that you can picture yourself walking in the woods, or maybe on the water paddling a canoe. Some of my songs are based on personal experiences and some on the experiences and stories of others that have captured my heart. Dan and Peggy, my mentors, recently made my day when they said “you have come leaps and bounds in your songwriting" and "you write from the heart”.  I thank them for their kind words and for all of their help along the way!
